Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits,
even the God of our salvation. Selah. ~ Psalms 68:19
Thanking God: As another year comes to a close and we are all thinking continually of the birth of our Savior, we can’t help but be so grateful for all of the wonderful things that God has done for us throughout the year.
Like most of you, we’ve had our ups and downs, our triumphs and our struggles, our good days and our bad days. But the constant has always been the presence of Our God in every moment. He has, once again, gotten us through it all.
We praise Him and give humble thanks for His amazing grace, power, strength, and comfort in our daily lives.
Thanking You: We also think of all of you who have so faithfully partnered with us in prayer, financial support, or words of encouragement. Some of you have done all three! We are so thankful for your loving kindness on our behalf. We pray God blesses each one of you individually for your efforts, as well as each church collectively.
We owe a special word of gratitude to each of you who sent Christmas cards or special money gifts (You know who you are!). We are always overwhelmed by your kindness and thoughtfulness when you take time to think of us and bless us at this time of year.
The Latest News: It’s been a good but busy month with a few new visitors in attendance, a caroling service at the nursing home and a Christmas Concert on a Sunday evening.
The wet season arrived like clockwork on December 1st and reminds us of our early years in Australia when it rained almost every day in summer. We are in for a very hot, wet, and humid Christmas - typical Aussie style.
School is out for the holiday season, so the Religious Education classes are on pause. We are hoping to catch up on a lot of other projects around the house during this time if our energy holds out.
Prayer Requests:
Pray for Tobias, a young man who has attended our church for a short time. He has a heart for the Lord and for sharing the Gospel. The Lord recently directed his path to take up a teaching position in a distant place. Please pray for God’s blessings and leading in his life and that God would help him to find friends of like faith and would use him greatly for His kingdom.
Special Request: Some of you may know our good friend, Bro. Darrell Moore. He taught both Angie and me during our days in Bible College and has also served as a missions pastor, mission board director, and preached many missions conferences. Please read this letter from Bro. Moore, introducing his new ministry as a Remote Missions Pastor.
Despite major health issues over the years, Bro. Moore has always been someone who goes full throttle. If you can’t afford a full-time missions pastor but could use some part-time help throughout the year, his new ministry would be ideal for your consideration. By working for many churches part-time as needed, he could meet his financial needs as well as take the load off of pastors by using his wisdom and experience to help you get things done for the cause of Christ. If you don’t have this need, please pass on the info to some pastor friends who might be interested. He is one of God’s faithful soldiers. Thanks so much!
That’s it for now! We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful start to the new year. I was really hoping 2024 would bring the return of the Lord, but we’ll keep looking up. Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus!
Your fellow servants,
Don and Angie Berg
