God's Grace Abounds
...always having all sufficiency in all things...that we may abound to every good work.
As we enter the 29th year of our ministry in Australia, we are filled with gratitude for your unwavering support and prayers. It's hard to believe so much time has passed since we first stepped foot on this unique continent.
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: II Corinthians 9:8
Familiar Routines…
We had the privilege once again of bringing some cheer to the residents of The Garden Settlement, our local nursing home, in the form of Gospel singing and testimonies of God’s saving Grace.
Afterward, we had the opportunity to speak with Louie about salvation. He said he was Catholic, but when we explained the Gospel was about faith in the saving blood of Jesus alone and not in a particular church or denomination, he declared that he firmly believed that to be true. That was a pleasure.
…and Joyful Celebrations.
Speaking of blessings, remember Tyler, the young man you prayed for early last year after his burn accident? We were overjoyed to witness his marriage last weekend to Nell, a lovely Christian young lady. It was a beautiful ceremony, and we rejoice with him and his new wife as they begin this exciting chapter of becoming a new family and serving the Saviour together. Pray for God’s blessings on their lives.
Of course, life in Australia continues to present its distinctive challenges. The wet season has brought with it heavy rains and several power outages. But even in these minor inconveniences, we are reminded of God's provision and the blessings we experience compared to a much greater portion of the world.
New Year; New Opportunities
In just a few weeks, the schools will be back in session, and we are eagerly anticipating the return of our weekly Bible classes. This is a ministry we deeply cherish. We are grateful for the opportunity to share God's Word with children and staff who may have no prior knowledge of God, and to build upon the foundations we laid with those in our classes last year.
Please pray for open doors, open hearts, and cooperative leadership in the schools. This all makes a big difference in how we and God’s Word are received in each school.
As we reflect on these past 28 years, we are humbled by God's faithfulness. While we may feel a bit older and weary at times, we are continually reminded of the immense privilege of serving Him in this land. Your prayers have been a constant source of encouragement, and we are truly grateful for your partnership in the Gospel.
We pray that 2025 brings Jesus in the clouds, but until He comes, know that you are in our hearts as we serve here while you serve there.
Your fellow servants,
Don and Angie Berg
