As I sit down to write this letter, I do so with a heart that feels both heavy and hopeful.
As most of you know, these past few years have brought their fair share of physical trials. I’ve faced several ongoing health challenges—some days are better than others, and we continue to lean on your prayers more often than we’d like to admit. Getting older seems to come with its own set of lessons, doesn’t it? But through it all, one truth remains unshaken: Jesus is coming again.
And it feels close.
The world around us is changing rapidly. Darkness grows, confusion spreads, and hearts are growing cold. But as believers, we recognize the signs. We aren’t caught off guard. The Bible told us these days would come—and they would mean one thing above all else:
The Lord is near.
Jesus said in Luke 21:28 “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”
We’re living in that moment—the “look up” moment. The countdown to eternity isn’t theoretical anymore. It’s real. Tangible. Every headline, every global shaking, every moral slide—it all points to the same truth: Time is short, and eternity is just ahead.
And so we ask ourselves, if we truly believed Jesus could return at any moment, how would we live?
Would we treasure God’s Word more and grumble less?
Would we spend more time with people and less with our preferences?
Would we be bold in our witness, generous in our giving, and urgent in our prayers?
Paul reminds us in Romans 13:11 “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.”
That truth has been stirring our hearts here on the field in Australia. Ministry isn’t always easy. We feel our limitations more with each passing year. But the mission hasn’t changed. Souls still need Jesus. The harvest is still great. And we still have a little time.
So while the body may slow down, we’re asking God to keep our spirits burning bright. We want to finish well. We want to stay faithful. And we want to encourage you to do the same.
If you’re weary—look up.
If you’re discouraged—look up.
If you’re waiting, watching, and wondering—look up.
Jesus is coming.
And we’re almost home.
